Welcome to Alia – Handmade Ceramics.
These Terms of Service apply to your use of my website and webshop and to purchases made through my online store.
By placing an order through my webshop, you agree to these Terms of Service. I recommend reading these Terms together with my Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these Terms of Service limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

My webshop is technically powered by Shopify. Purchases made through my webshop are made directly between you and Alia – Handmade Ceramics.
2. MY PRODUCTS
All of my ceramics are handmade.
Because each piece is made individually, small variations in shape, size, colour, glaze, texture and finish are natural and should be expected. These variations are part of the character of handmade ceramics and are not automatically defects.
I make every effort to photograph and describe my products as accurately as possible. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen and device.
Product availability, descriptions and prices may change from time to time.
3. ORDERS
When you place an order through my webshop, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order.
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation confirms that I have received your order.
I reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in exceptional circumstances, for example if a product is unexpectedly unavailable, there is an obvious error in the price or product description, or I suspect fraudulent activity.
If I need to cancel an order after payment has been made, I will refund the amount paid for the cancelled order.
4. PRICES AND PAYMENT
All prices shown in my webshop are in euros and include applicable VAT.
Shipping costs are shown separately at checkout.
The total amount payable, including any applicable shipping costs, will be shown before you place your order.
Payment must be completed through one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
5. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
I aim to prepare and ship orders within 3–5 business days.
Estimated delivery times after dispatch are:
- The Netherlands: approximately 2–3 business days
- Rest of the EU: approximately 3–7 business days
These are estimated delivery times and are not guaranteed. Actual delivery may be affected by circumstances outside my control.

If an order is not delivered within the agreed delivery period, you may have rights to cancel the purchase and receive a refund in accordance with applicable consumer law.
6. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
If you are an EU consumer purchasing online, you generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
You can exercise this right through the online withdrawal/cancellation button on my website, by contacting me directly, or by using the statutory Model Withdrawal Form.

The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to certain products covered by legal exceptions, including certain personalised or made-to-order products.
7. DEFECTIVE OR NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS
I want every piece to arrive safely and to be as described.
If a product is defective, damaged or does not conform to the agreement, you retain the statutory rights available to you under applicable consumer law.
These statutory rights are separate from the voluntary return process described in my Returns & Refunds Policy.
8. CUSTOM AND PERSONALISED PRODUCTS
Some products may be made specifically according to a customer's personal wishes or specifications.
Where permitted by applicable law, custom-made or personalised products are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal.
This does not affect your statutory rights if a custom-made or personalised product is defective or does not conform to the agreement.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All photographs, illustrations, text, graphics, logos, product designs and other original content on this website belong to Alia – Handmade Ceramics unless otherwise stated.
You may view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially use my photographs, artwork, product designs, branding or written content without my prior written permission.
10. USE OF THE WEBSITE
I make reasonable efforts to keep the information on my website accurate and up to date.
However, I cannot guarantee that the website will always be available, completely error-free or free from technical interruptions.
You may not use the website for unlawful purposes or in a way that could damage, disable or interfere with the website or its security.
11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
My website may use third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, shipping providers and other services that help me operate my webshop.
My website may also contain links to third-party websites.
I am not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third-party websites or services. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply.
12. LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from misuse of a product or failure to follow reasonable care or maintenance instructions.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.

Personal information collected through my webshop is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.
Shopify also processes certain information as part of providing the ecommerce platform and related services.
15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
I may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to my business, website or legal requirements.
The most current version will always be available on this page.
Changes will not affect rights that have already arisen under applicable law.
16. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live apply.
If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you retain the protection of any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
